he AQUATOP SP5-UV Submersible UV Sterilization Pump is a new and innovative method of eradicating and controlling free-floating microorganisms as well as disease-causing pathogens. The built in pump will draw water and run it through the 5 watt UV bulb. The ultraviolet light will sterilize and clarify, producing crystal clear water. How does SP5-UV work? The SP-UV filter uses a top-mounted submersible pump to draw water through its compact, high output UV bulb. The UV bulb is encapsulated in a unique quartz sleeve and the SP5UV includes a replaceable filter sponge to mechanically filter out organic debris before water is passed over the UV bulb. The efficient design of the SPUV Elite Series filter allows for submersible UV sterilization in freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
